We recently got the first glimpse of Honda’s upcoming 160cc naked motorcycle, the CB Unicorn 160, when it was photographed during a TV commercial shoot. Speculations had suggested that the Japanese manufacturer might launch the Yamaha FZ-S rival in January. Now though, it seems that Honda is planning to launch the motorcycle in the Indian market on December 18.
Looking at the previous spy pictures, we can see an uncanny resemblance between the CB Unicorn 160 and the CX-01 concept which was showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, earlier this year. The front gets a bikini fairing and a new headlamp unit, which seems like an evolution of the first generation Unicorn. The side profile gets black and silver accents. The entire motorcycle sports a clean design and is void of any decals or graphics, except for the ‘CB Unicorn 160’ badge in the tail section.
The CB Unicorn 160 will be powered by a single-cylinder 160cc engine, which should better the existing 150cc Honda motorcycles in terms of performance and fuel efficiency. It will be the successor to the CB Dazzler, and will be positioned above the CB Trigger. We expect it to retail in the Rs 73,000 to Rs 78,000 price range, which will make it rival the likes of Yamaha FZ-S Version 2.0, Suzuki Gixxer and the upcoming Hero Xtreme Sports.
