Honda recently launched the NX500- the replacement for the CB500X- in India. RIvalling the Benelli TRK 502X and the Kawasaki Versys 650, the motorcycle has been priced competitively. Well, if you're looking to purchase the Honda NX500, we tell you everything you need to know about it in five points.
Design
As we mentioned earlier, the NX500 is a rebranded version of the CB500X. But then, other than the new name, it also gets updates in other aspects- including its styling. While the CB was sporty, the NX500 has a more adventure-ish twist to it. This comes with a tall front end, a tall windscreen and a fuel tank design to match. It even comes with edgy tank shrouds and full-LED lighting to complete the look. That said, the rear is similar to what you’d find on the CB500X. Honda offers the motorcycle in three colour options- Grand Prix Red, Matte Gunpowder Black and Pearl Horizon White.
Performance
This Honda uses a 471cc, parallel-twin engine offering 47bhp and 43Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch. This is the same motor Honda uses in its other 500cc offerings like the Rebel 500 cruiser that is sold internationally.
Hardware
The Honda NX500 comes with premium components like the Showa SFF-BP inverted forks and monoshock deployed for suspension duties. Then there are the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with dual-purpose tyres. Lastly, for braking, the motorcycle uses a 240m rear disc and 296mm front disc with ABS as standard.
Features
Its list of features includes full-LED lighting for the headlamp, turn signals and tail lamp. The bike also gets a five-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity and traction control of the switchable kind. With that said, it is propped with a fairly large 17.5-litre fuel tank to support its touring abilities.
Pricing
Now Honda has priced the NX500 at an introductory Rs 5.90 lakh, ex-showroom. The motorcycle is competitively priced and costs just Rs 5,000 more than the Benelli TRK 502X and less than the Kawasaki Versys 650 as well.
