Honda has added the CB300F to the range of naked class of motorcycles available today. The manufacturer unveiled this stripped off version of the CBR300R on their US website.
The design of the bike is similar to the drawings that were revealed earlier. The bikini fairing that houses the headlamp and digital LCD guages, underpinning the CB300F is the same steel diamond twin-spar frame as seen on the CBR300R. However, the bike gets a more upright position and is lighter than its faired sibling.
The new Honda CB300F is powered by a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 286cc single-cylinder engine that produces 30.4bhp of power. This motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The company says whether one is commuting, zipping around town or headed out for a weekend ride, the CB300F's roomy ergonomics, great handling and broad powerband will make every ride a blast. The motorcycle is expected to go on sale in a couple of months in the US and will cost $3,999 (approximately Rs 2.4 lakh).
Honda is still due to introduce the CB300R to the Indian motorcycle market and we do not expect the CB300F to reach the Indian soil soon. But we think with the launch of the CB300R, which will compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 300, the Japanese manufacturer should bring the CB300F as well to rival the upcoming Kawasaki Z250.
