The 2016 edition of Honda One Make championship will be kicked-off on June 24 at the Kari Motor Speedway. This ninth edition of the motorcycle racing championship will also see participation of 10 women riders in the newly instituted All Women class.
This year’s edition will see the participation of 53 riders, competing on race-spec versions of the CBR 250R and the CBR 150R. Like every year, the CBR 250R category will be conducted as a team championship wherein the 16 CBR 250R bikes have been leased out to four teams registered at FMSCI. The All Women class will be treated as an independent category. Honda says that this class was created in an attempt to encourage the fairer sex to get into racing. All the 10 women riders have been trained at the Honda Ten10 Racing Academy.
While the CBR 250R has been upgraded with new wiring harness with remapping option, advanced racing body cowl kit and endurance exhaust, the CBR 150R gets a reprogrammed ECU and endurance exhaust. The next three rounds of the Honda One Make championship will be conducted at the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai, while the final round will be held at the Buddh International Circuit, Delhi.
