- Honda Dax e: and Zoomer e: patents filed
- Offer 80km of range
- No word about the India launch timeline
Honda is on a patent filing spree in India. The manufacturer recently filed patents for the CBR250RR and CL300 in the country and has now gone ahead and patented two electric scooters here.
Called the Dax e: and Zoomer e:, the scooters are modern and electric renditions of the popular petrol-powered versions of the same. The two are small in size and come with a Bosch Hub motor that is capable of offering 80km of range and a humble top-speed of 25kmph on both.
While nothing to hold a candle to the Ather 450, Ola S1 or TVS iQube, these electric scooters from Honda could be a decent B2B offering. As for features, the Honda Dax e: and Zoomer e: come with modern features like LED lighting for the headlamp, LCD instrumentation and disc brakes at both ends.
Whether or not Honda will launch the electric scooters is yet to be known. However, we do know that the manufacturer is looking to launch the electric Activa in the country by 2024. Details are scare but the scooter will go head on against the big players of the electric two-wheeler space and possibly the Suzuki e-Burgman, if it is launched in India too.
