- Honda Winner X design patents filed
- Uses a 150cc engine with 15.4bhp
- No confirmation about its India launch
Honda has filed design patents for the Winner X scooter in India. The scooter was recently launched in Vietnam and takes on the Yamaha Aerox 155 there.
The Honda Winner X is a sporty scooter with an underbone chassis and a 150cc engine powering it. This motor is capable of churning out 15.4bhp and 13.5Nm. These figures are almost on par with the Aerox 155 which offers 14.79bhp and 13.9Nm. However, the Honda benefits from a six-speed gearbox, unlike the Yamaha which gets a CVT. That said, the Honda Winner X boasts a low, 795mm seat height and a kerb weight of 155kg with its 4.5-litre fuel tank filled.
As for features, the Honda Winner X lists keyless operation, a digital instrument console, USB charging and LED lighting all around. It rides on tall 17-inch wheels suspended from conventional telescopic forks and a preload adjustable rear shock. Braking, on the other hand, is done by petal discs at both ends with ABS.
Now, this isn’t the first time Honda has patented its international model in India with patents already filed for the ADV 350 and Vario 160 in the past. This also means that patent filings aren’t a guarantee that the motorcycle or scooter will be introduced here. Given the Winner X’s form and function, it is unlikely to be launched in India since the market for such scooters does not exist currently.
