- Sold 4.17 lakh two-wheelers in the last month

Honda has recorded a 23 per cent growth in domestic two-wheeler sales in March 2018. The company has cemented its position as the country’s second largest two-wheeler manufacturer by selling over 4.17 lakh units. As opposed to this, Honda had managed to sell just over 3.38 lakh two-wheelers in March 2017. However, export numbers dipped marginally from 27,234 units in March 2017 to 23,163 units in March 2018.
Honda closed the last financial year with cumulative sales of over 57.75 lakh two-wheelers in the domestic market, which is a personal record for the company. This represents a 22 per cent growth as compared to 2016-17. Export numbers grew from 2.83 lakh units to 3.48 lakh units over the same period. Overall, the company sold 61.23 lakh two-wheelers.
The Activa has been the top money-spinner for Honda and single-handedly accounts for more than half of the volumes. It also holds the crown for the highest-selling two-wheeler in India. The company recently introduced a slew of upgrades for the scooter along with a new moniker – the Activa 5G. The company has also launched MY2018 updates for the rest of its range.
