The official logo of Honda RC213V-S has been revealed thanks to an image leaked from the trademark application, filed by the Honda in Japan. While the original prototype, which Honda had unveiled at the 2014 EICMA Show, sported a ‘RC213V’ badge, this image confirms the bike’s official moniker, while previewing the logo’s design.
The RC213V-S is as close as it can get, when it comes to a MotoGP motorcycle for the road. Powered by a 1.0-litre V4 engine, the RC213V-S will be equipped with MotoGP electronics and suspension. Though Honda has refused to divulge any technical details, power is expected to be north of the 200 horsepower mark. Even the component quality and construction used in the two motorcycles will be very similar, though the dry clutch from the MotoGP bike will be replaced with a wet clutch.
The Honda RC213V-S will be officially unveiled on June 11, just before the MotoGP Grand Prix of Catalunya in Spain. Instead of selling the RC213V-S in limited numbers, we might see this model being built on order. With prices expected to start around GBP 1,00,000 (Rs 97.45 lakh), Honda will start accepting orders for the motorcycle, post its official unveiling.
