Honda has issued a recall for this touring motorcycle – the Goldwing in US. This recall is over an airbag issue which affects 882 units.
These 882 bikes have been manufactured from 2006-2009 and the 2012 model. The affected bikes are equipped with certain airbag inflators assembled as part of the airbag modules. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front airbags, these inflators may rupture due humidity and temperature. This could pose a risk to the rider.
Honda has started contacting all the affected customers through their dealers. They have asked the customers to get their Goldwing to the service centre where they will replace the airbag module for free.
