Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has recorded an overall growth of 26 per cent in August. The Japanese manufacturer sold 6,22,180 units in the last month over the 4,92,368 units it had sold in the corresponding month in the last year.
The manufacturer recorded a 26 per cent growth in domestic sales with 5,86,173 units as compared to 4,66,289 units in August 2016. On the other hand, exports for the company grew by 38 per cent with 36,007 units being shipped over the 26,079 units in the same period last year.
Motorcycle and scooter sales also saw an increase in demand of 48 per cent and 17 per cent respectively. Honda sold 1,91,944 motorcycles while scooter sales number stood at 3,94,229.
While Honda’s recent offerings, the Africa Twin and Cliq have managed to garner attention, the Activa 4G continues to be the top-seller for the company in India.
