Honda has announced a nine per cent growth in two-wheeler sales in October. The Japanese manufacturer sold over 4.92 lakh motorcycles and scooters in the last month as opposed to 4.31 lakh units it had managed in October 2015, holding on to the second position in the Indian two-wheeler industry.
In the festive season over the past two months, Honda sold over 12 lakh two-wheelers, 25 per cent more than the corresponding period in 2015. The company’s growth has been spearheaded by the scooter range, which make up for more than 60 per cent of overall sales. The commuter motorcycle range has also been performing well, with the CB Shine regaining its crown as the top-selling 125cc motorcycle in the country. Even the export numbers jumped by 29 per cent, with Dio and CB Hornet 160R being the most popular vehicles.
Honda made the most of the healthy monsoons and festive season by introducing new products and cosmetic updates for its line-up. The company has also been rolling out exchange offers, discounts and benefits for those choosing to finance their purchase.
