Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recorded a 15 per cent growth for April 2018.
The manufacturer sold 6,35,811 units last month as compared to the 5,51,732 units it sold in the same time last year. Out of this, 4,23, 527 were scooters, which also saw a 15 per cent jump as compared to 3,68,550 units sold in April 2017.
Honda sold 2,12,284 motorcycles in India last month registering a growth of 16 per cent. It had sold 1,83,182 units in the same time last year. Exports too saw a massive growth of 70 per cent with 46,077 units shipped as compared to the 27,045 units exported in April last year.
While the CB Shine is Honda’s highest-selling motorcycle, it garners most of its numbers from the Activa which has long been India’s best-selling scooter. Meanwhile, the latest offering from Honda was the X-Blade. For 2018, the manufacturer is expected to launch 18 updated bikes and one new motorcycle sometime this year.
