- Honda dispatched total of 58,168 two-wheelers
- Exported 19,405 units
- Has resumed operations in all plants
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has recorded a total sale of 58,168 units in May 2021.
Out of this number, the manufacturer dispatched 38,763 two-wheelers in India and exported 19,405 units last month. These numbers are far lesser than the 2.83 lakh units sold by Honda in April 2021 and can be attributed to the lockdown imposed due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. Moreover, Honda had also temporarily shut down operations at its plants in Haryana, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Gujarat only to resume production last week.
With slight ease in restrictions across the country, we can expect Honda sales to pick up slightly. Although, the effect of the lockdown is likely to be felt for the next couple of months at least. Nonetheless, Honda has announced several offers for service and warranty to customers that are valid till 31 July as well as support for its dealers for another month.
