Honda Motorcycle & Scooter has reported a two per cent decrease in its overall sales for September. The company sold 4,30,732 units as compared to 4,38,479 units in the same month last year.
The motorcycles sales for the Japanese manufacturer went down to 1,46,258 units from 1,79,456 units in September 2015. However, the scooter sales increased to 2,64,385 units from 2,41,124 units. Honda claims that they have grown faster than the two-wheeler industry in India. The company has sold 22.72 lakh units in the first half of the current financial year.
During Ganesh Chaturthi, the Japanese manufacturer sold 58,000 two-wheelers in just one day. With a claimed domestic market share of 27 per cent, Honda has been one of the fastest growing two-wheeler manufacturers in India. Honda will soon launch the CB Hornet 160R as one of its festive season offerings. With this bike, there is a high chance that the company might be able to attract young enthusiasts, who are looking for a very stylish motorcycle.
