Honda unveiled their new prototype, the CRF150L at the 2017 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. The production version of this bike is expected to hit the Indonesia market in the next few months.
Built around a semi-double cradle frame, this entry-level dirt bike is expected to bag around 14,000 sales for the company annually. Powering this motorcycle is small 150cc air-cooled single cylinder motor which produces 13bhp at 8500rpm and peak torque of 12.3Nm at 6500rpm. This motor is mated to a five-speed gearbox and gets a kick starter as well.
This Japanese dirt bike rides on Pirelli tyres and sports the Russian Motocross paint scheme from HRC 777 livery. The brakes are discs at both ends, with a protective cover doing the job at the front setup to avoid any damage that comes from off-road riding. The bike is equipped with a Yoshimura exhaust and aluminium off-road foot pegs.
Honda hasn’t thrown out any hint about the pricing yet. But we expect that to happen when the production model is ready. We would love to have something like this in India. The dirt-bike segment here is still in its nascent stage. The introduction of a bike like the CRF150L will give many enthusiasts better access to the world of dirt riding.
