Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) have registered an increase of 12 per cent in sales in India for October 2018.
The manufacturer sold 4.9 lakh units last month as compared to 4.3 lakh units sold in October 2017. Exports stood at 31,035 units; a 7 per cent growth over the 29,004 units sold overseas in the same month last year. Overall, Honda sold 5.2 lakh two-wheelers in October this year as opposed to the 4.6 lakh units sold in the same time a year ago registering a 11.7 per cent increase.
Out of the total numbers, 2.93 lakh were scooters while 1.99 lakh units were motorcycles. According to the manufacturer, this is the fifth time it has registered a sale of over 5 lakh units in 2018. Honda also launched a new loyalty programme called ‘Honda Joy Club’ valid for three years that offers discounts on spare parts and accessories along with a few more offers.
