Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has sold 41,000 two-wheelers on the auspicious Akshaya Tritiya day. This is the first time the company has achieved such good sales in a single day.
With 41,000 sales during this day, the company registered a 50 per cent sales increase over its last year. At the same time, the Dream motorcycle series (comprising of Dream Yuga, Dream NEO and CD 110 Dream) witnessed 55 per cent rise in sales.
“While we had the reports on muted sentiment towards gold-buying, it has been a great revelation of trust & confidence in brand Honda seeing the swelling walk-ins at our network and overall conversions into retails. The 50% increase in sales during Akshaya Tritiya is a significant jump, and even surpassed all our expectations. This, yet again reinforces trust that customer repose in Honda," said Y S Guleria, senior vice-president, sales & marketing, HMSI.
Akshaya Tritiya is considered to be a good day to buy gold and vehicles in India. During this day, the two-wheeler manufacturers make sure to keep a good stock of vehicles, because taking delivery of the two-wheeler is considered more important.
