- 70 lakhs CB Shine sold in India
- Was first launched in 2006
- Competes with Hero Glamour
Honda has sold a total of 70 lakhs CB Shine bikes in India, creating a new milestone for the company. It took Honda 12 years to reach this milestone.
The company claims that the CB Shine is the only 125cc motorcycle to reach the 70 lakhs sales milestone. It also claims that this 125cc bike holds 51 per cent market share in the segment.
The CB Shine gets its power from a 125cc single-cylinder engine. This engine produces 10.16bhp at 7500rpm and peak torque of 10.30Nm at 5500rpm. This motor is mated to a four-speed gearbox. In terms of styling, the CB Shine sports a 3D logo on the fuel tank, chrome exhaust cover and chrome carburettor cover.
The CB Shine’s direct rival is the Glamour from Hero MotoCorp, which also has a good fan following. There have been a few instances where the Glamour managed to outsell CB Shine. There's a five-speed gearbox variant as well, which demands a couple of thousand rupees more.
