- Honda Activa 125 and SP 125 BS6 cross 60,000 unit sales mark
- Recorded the sales number within three months of launch
- Both carry a significant premium over their BS4 models
Honda seems to be having a smooth transition to BS6 in India. While other manufacturers have recently started rolling out their BS6-compliant models, Honda’s Activa 125 FI and the SP 125 have already collectively surpassed the 60,000 unit sales mark. The company recorded this sales number within three months of the launch of these BS6 models.
Honda launched its first BS6 model, the Activa 125 Fi, in September while the deliveries commenced in the first week of October. Meanwhile, the SP 125 was introduced in November, which is the successor to the CB Shine SP. Both these models were the early BS6 entrants in the Indian two-wheeler market which has apparently helped the brand in raking in good numbers.
Besides updating the engine to be compliant with the upcoming emission regulations, Honda has also added a bunch of new features in both models in order to justify the price hike. The SP 125 has been priced at Rs 72,900 (drum brake) and Rs 77,100 (front disc) which is a premium of around Rs 7,000 over its predecessor. On the other hand, the Activa 125 Fi carries a price tag of Rs 67,490 (standard), Rs 70,990 (alloy wheels) and Rs 74,490 (deluxe with front disc). This has made the scooter expensive by around Rs 7,000 to Rs 11,000 as compared to its BS4 version.
