- Honda Shine to receive 10 years warranty
- Three years is standard
- Additional seven-year warranty needs to be purchased
Honda wants to make a significant impact with its newly launched motorcycle – the Shine 100. The company is offering a whopping ten-year warranty option with this entry-level motorcycle.
The Shine 100 comes with a three-year standard warranty, but the brand also allows the customer to purchase a seven-year extended warranty for an extra price. With this option, the Shine 100 will have a comprehensive warranty of 10 years – something usually not seen in this industry. With such an aggressive warranty package, it is clear that Honda wants to crack the 100cc segment, which is currently dominated by Hero MotoCorp’s Splendor and the HF Deluxe. Hero offers a standard warranty of five years for all its bikes but also gives an option of two additional years of extended warranty.
We spoke with a few Hero dealers in Mumbai and Delhi, who informed us that only some customers opt for an extended warranty for such motorcycles. So it is clear that Honda is using this ten years warranty strategy to attract rural customers. A high-duration warranty usually makes a customer believe the product is superior and there’s barely any chance of defects or issues. It will be interesting to see the overall sales numbers of the Shine 100 during this upcoming festive season. The number will give us a clear indication of the success of this entry-level Honda motorcycle.
