Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced the launch of the OBD2-compliant Shine 125 in our market. The latest iteration of the premium commuter motorcycle is available in two variants and the prices start from Rs. 79,800. The base model, which uses drum brakes on both wheels, is listed at Rs. 79,800. Meanwhile, the disc brake variant is priced at Rs. 83,800.
Notably, the styling remains unaltered, and the 2023 Honda Shine 125 retains the design of its predecessor. The styling includes a single-pod headlight with a body-coloured cowl and front fender, a single-piece saddle, a side-slung exhaust, and five-spoke alloy wheels shod in tubeless tyres. Then, chrome elements on the headlight cowl, side panels, and a muffler heat cover further enhance the styling of the motorcycle. Both variants are available in five colours – Black, Geny Grey Metallic, Matte Axis Grey, Rebel Red Metallic, and Decent Blue Metallic.
The mechanical specifications retain the 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with fuel injection technology, enhanced Smart Power (eSP) and Honda ACG starter. This motor is now OBD2 and E20 fuel-compliant. Then, similar to the previous model, this engine comes linked to a five-speed gearbox. Further, the feature list includes an engine start/stop switch, an integrated high-beam flasher, an external fuel pump, and a combined braking system with an equaliser.
The hardware across the range comprises telescopic front forks and five-step adjustable rear springs. Then, the anchoring setup on the base model comprises drum brakes on both wheels. The higher version benefits from a front disc brake. This motorcycle comes with Honda’s special 10-year warranty package.
