Honda has sold 16.8 million motorcycles worldwide in 2013 showing an 8.7 per cent rise in global motorcycles sales.
The boost in sales is majorly because of the number of two-wheelers sold in Asia and Oceania. Honda sold 12.96 million motorcycles in 2013, reporting an increase of 10.7 per cent in sales as compared to the 11.7 million motorcycles sold in 2012.
On the other hand, the sales figures for Honda saw a decline in Japan, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The company sold 2,19,000 motorcycles in Japan last year, when they had sold 2,21,000 in 2012. Similarly, with their other counterparts like Europe, the Middle East and Africa, which were expected to achieve large sales numbers for the manufacturer, sales fell by 5.2 per cent as 3,23,000 vehicles were sold in contrast to 3,41,000 two-wheelers in 2012.
