- Powered by a 162.71cc single-cylinder motor
- Gets a fully digital console
- Available in two variants
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have launched a brand-new commuter offering and it’s called the SP160. This is the second SP motorcycle from the Japanese brand for India alongside the SP125. Here’s what the SP160 has to offer.
What are the design cues on the SP160?
On the design front, the new SP160 seems to take a practical approach with a dash of sportiness. Even with its commuter design, the SP160 appears youthful, courtesy of the headlight design, tank extensions and sharp bodywork. When compared to the SP125, the new 160 appears to have borrowed the structure. Moreover, Honda is offering the bike in multiple paint schemes including two-tone options.
What’s the engine capacity for the new Honda motorcycle?
Honda has powered the SP160 with a 162.71cc single-cylinder motor that develops 13.2bhp and 14.59Nm. It’s linked to a five-speed gearbox. Interestingly, the Unicorn’s engine capacity, bore-stroke value and output figures are the same. So, it is quite possible that both bikes use the same engine.
What features does the new SP160 get?
The SP160 gets a fully digital console with readouts like the speedometer, odometer, tripmeter, side stand indicator, gear position indicator, fuel level readout, a clock, and average fuel consumption reading as well. It features an LED headlight and bulb indicators.
What is the hardware setup on the new Honda commuter motorcycle?
The new Honda motorcycle rides on telescopic front forks and a monoshock. And, its braking setup consists of a 276mm front disc with either a 220mm rear disc or a 130mm rear drum, depending on the variant. The Honda SP160 gets a 12-litre fuel tank and tips the scale at 141kg with the double disc setup.
How much do the two SP160 variants cost?
The single-disc model is priced at Rs. 1,17,500 and the double disc variant costs Rs. 1,21,900 (both ex-showroom, Delhi). The Honda SP160 rivals the Bajaj Pulsar 150.
