Select Honda dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings of the CB Hornet 160R. A premium 160cc commuter, the CB Hornet 160R will go on sale in December 2015, as a rival to the Yamaha FZ-S, Suzuki Gixxer and the Hero Xtreme Sports.
The CB Hornet 160R made its debut at Honda’s pan-India event – the RevFest, in August, this year. With characteristic Honda-like styling, the CB Hornet 160R draws influence from the CX-01 concept bike which was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The muscular looks, chiselled fuel tank, edgy body cowls and the raised exhaust end command street presence, like none of its predecessors could. It comes equipped with disc brakes on both wheels and CBS, a fully digital instrument console and an LED tail lamp.
While the CB Unicorn used to sell like hot cakes, the Japanese manufacturer hasn’t tasted success in the premium commuter segment, which is currently dominated by the Yamaha FZ-S and the Suzuki Gixxer. The failure of the CB Trigger and the CB Dazzler has been attributed to their lack of charisma, though we expect this to be taken care of with the new CB Hornet 160R.
