- Rajiv Sethu wins SuperSport 165
- Anish Shetty finishes first in Pro-Stock 165 and CBR 250R class
- Mohamed Mukail wins CBR 150R class with 17 second lead.
The second day of Round 2 of the 2018 MRF Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship turned out to be an eventful day for Honda.
Honda rider Rajiv Sethu took the first spot in the SuperSport 165 class followed by Jagan Kumar of TVS Racing in second place. Sarath Kumar and Mathana Kumar from Honda stood third and fourth respectively. In the Pro-Stock 165 category, Honda’s Anish Shetty claimed victory with his team mate Senthil Kumar finishing closely behind him while Naresh Babu from RACR completed the podium.
Anish Shetty also went on to win the first race of Round 2 in the CBR 250R class of the Idemitsu Honda Talent Cup. Abhishek V placed second while Amit Topno finished third. Finishing fourth in the category was Round 1 winner, Senthil Kumar.
Honda also conducted the first edition of the CBR 150R class today. The category witnessed Mohamed Mukhail take the top spot with an impressive 17 second lead over Akshay Murali, who finished second. Anandhu KK completed the podium finishing third while 13-year old Geoffrey Emmanuel came fourth.
Ann Jennifer from Sparks Racing took home the trophy in the INMRC Stock 165-Girls category. Alisha Abdullah started fourth in the grid and fought her way up, finishing second. The third spot was taken by Sruthi Nagarajan who dropped from first on the grid.
TVS also conducted their One Make series today which comprised of three categories. In the TVS Apache 200 Novice-Girls category, Rhyana Bee and Ann Jennifer claimed first and second spot respectively while Priyanka Kochhar finished third. The TVS Apache RR 310 Open category was won by Amarnath Menon followed by Vivek Pillai and Deepak Ravikumar. Round 1 winner, Karthik Mateti maintained his position and claimed victory again in the TVS Apache RTR Novice category. Anand R who had finished behind Karthik in the first round, took the second spot in Round 2 as well. Venkatesan completed the podium finishing third in the race.
The Day 2 of the 2018 INMRC saw pleasant weather throughout. While most of the categories saw minor incidents, the Pro-stock 165 and SuperStock 165 witnessed a major crash which brought out the red flag and cut short the race to 4 laps. Day 3 that is scheduled for tomorrow will have riders of all categories, including the Pro-Stock 301cc-400cc category battling it out at the Madras Motor Race Track.
