Honda India is gearing up to launch a new scooter in the Indian market this month. This news was revealed by YS Guleria, senior vice-president, HMSI.
While he didn’t divulge many details about this scooter, he did mention about it being a surprise. This new scooter will meet the upcoming BS-IV emission norms and also sport the automatic headlamp on (AHO) feature. These regulations will kick in on April 1st, 2017 for all new two-wheelers sold in India. The Japanese manufacturer has been slowly but steadily updating its motorcycles with BS-IV engines and AHO. It will need to do the same for its scooters.
"It will be launched very soon and what it is, is a surprise, so wait for the launch. We can't say anything more at this stage," said YS Guleria.
We would love to see Honda get the PCX125, which it had displayed at the last Auto Expo, to India. But knowing this Japanese manufacturer, there is a high chance of seeing an updated Activa.
