Honda is going to launch the CB Unicorn 160 in the Indian market, tomorrow. We got the first glimpse of the CB Unicorn 160 in its full glory earlier this month, when shutterbugs managed to photograph the premium commuter motorcycle completely undisguised, during its TV commercial shoot.
The CB Unicorn bears an uncanny resemblance to the CX-01 concept, which was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo, earlier this year. The front of the CB Unicorn 160 gets a bikini fairing and a new headlamp unit, which has an aura of the traditional Honda design around it. Though technical details about the motorcycle are scarce, we expect the CB Unicorn 160 to be powered by a 160cc single-cylinder engine. We can safely assume that the engine will be more fuel efficient than the other 150cc Honda engines.
The Honda CB Unicorn 160 is expected to retail in the Rs 73,000 to Rs 77,000 price bracket and will fill in the void left by the CB Dazzler. The CB Dazzler was Honda’s contender in this rapidly growing segment, though stiff competition from the Yamaha FZ-S meant that it didn’t fare well and was eventually discontinued. With the new CB Unicorn 160, Honda will try to grab a share of this lucrative segment by capitalising on the customers’ attachment with the ‘Unicorn’ moniker.
