Honda is going to launch the CBR650F in India tomorrow. This fully-faired middleweight sports touring motorcycle will be launched along with three other models at the Honda RevFest, which will be held simultaneously across eight cities in the country.
Aesthetically, the CBR650F borrows styling cues from the CBR600RR, though the single headlamp unit differentiates it from the 600cc supersport bike. Powering the CBR650F is a 649cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder mill, which churns out 87bhp and 63Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission.
Honda had announced last year that the CBR650F was going to be locally produced in India, giving momentum to the ‘Make in India’ campaign. The CBR650F will be assembled at Honda’s plant in Manesar, which should help the Japanese manufacturer offer the bike with a lucrative price tag. Honda also revealed that it will be setting up a new premium distribution format for the CBR650F in 12 cities across the country, to pamper its customers with exclusive sales-service shop-in-shop network of elite ‘Wing World’ dealerships.
The launch will also be broadcasted live through the Japanese manufacturer’s official website. Once launched, the CBR 650F will rival other middleweights like the Kawasaki Ninja 650R, Hyosung GT650R and the Benelli TNT 600GT.
