Honda is gearing up to showcase a new set of technologies and products at the upcoming 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. The Honda Riding Assist-e concept is one of them.
As the ‘e’ in the name suggests, this concept is an electric two-wheeler which will showcase self-balancing technology. This new tech will keep the two-wheeler upright by moving the front wheel. The Japanese automaker had showcased a self-balancing motorcycle concept early this year at Consumer Electronics Show (CES). However, this concept was powered by a petrol motor.
Honda hasn’t used any gyroscopes for this technology. Rather it did it by raking out the front forks and then balancing the motorcycle by moving the front wheel back and forth. We’re expecting Honda to use the same application for the Riding Assist-e concept.
We expect other biker makers like Kawasaki and Yamaha to reveal some of their latest technologies at the Tokyo Motor Show. Exciting days ahead.
