Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India will unveil their latest product – the CB Hornet 160R at the RevFest tomorrow. The company is claiming that RevFest will be the grandest motorcycle event in India.
While the Japanese manufacturer is focusing more on the CBR650F, which will also be launched tomorrow, we believe the CB Hornet 160R will be placed above the CB Unicorn 160. The Hornet is a well-known brand across the world and that’s why Honda wants to capitalise on it in the Indian commuter motorcycle segment.
We are expecting the Honda Hornet 160R to be powered by the same engine that powers the CB Unicorn 160. This engine churns out 14.5bhp at 8,000rpm and maximum torque of 14.61Nm at 6,000rpm. The only new addition to this new model would be in the cosmetic department, where it will use some new decals and some sharp styled components.
Even though Honda has tasted success in other motorcycle and scooter segments, it has been unsuccessful in the 150cc-160cc motorcycle segment. After the CB Dazzler failed, the company launched the CB Trigger, which also failed to attract buyers. The company eventually replaced the Unicorn 150 with the new Unicorn 160 and we are expecting the upcoming CB Hornet 160R to replace the CB Trigger.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get you more information on the Honda Hornet 160R from the launch event tomorrow.
