Honda has unveiled their new Rebel range – the Rebel 500 and the Rebel 300 cruisers. These bikes were unveiled at the IMS Long Beach Show.
While Honda brand is all about fast super sport motorcycles and adventure bikes, its Rebel range has helped them get a lot of customers from the cruiser segment. In fact, in the American market, the Rebel bikes have good brand value. And for the same reason, the Japanese manufacturer decided to upgrade both the bikes.
The Rebel 500 gets the 471cc parallel-twin engine from the CBR500R, whereas the Rebel 300 gets the 2866cc from the smaller sibling – the CBR300R. Both the engines have been re-tuned to deliver low and mid-range torque. The chassis has been reworked to accommodate this new engine. The company also made sure to keep the seat height low at 685mm to make it accessible to shorter riders.
Honda has priced the Rebel 500 at $5999 (Rs 5.04 lakh) and the Rebel 300 at $4299 (Rs 3.70 lakh). These prices are for the non-ABS model, however, the ABS versions will be available at the time of launch.
