Honda has unveiled the 2014 CBR 300R at the 2013 EICMA event being held at Milan, Italy. Honda CBR 300R will not only get a bigger engine than its sibling, the Honda CBR 250R, but is also lighter.
The 2014 Honda CBR 300R will sport a 286cc single cylinder liquid cooled fuel injected engine. This engine will churn out maximum power of 30.4bhp at 8500rpm and peak torque at 27Nm at 7250rpm. Surprisingly there is not just an increase in power but also a decrease in weight of 15lbs (6.8kg). This will make an impressive power to weight ratio that will directly help the overall performance.
The motorcycle was first unveiled at the China International Motorcycle Trade exhibition in mid-October. Increase in capacity and reduction in weight of the Honda CBR is definitely an answer to Kawasaki Ninja 250R’s replacer, the Ninja 300R. The Ninja 300R producing 39bhp will continue to be more powerful than the CBR 300R but it will be amusing to see Honda price the CBR 300R lesser than the much expensive Ninja 300R. Expect the CBR 300R to hit Indian showrooms sometime next year soon after the 2014 Auto Expo.
