Honda has unveiled the CB150R Streetfire at Jakarta Motorcycle Show. This is basically a naked and slightly toned-down version of the CBR150R; the bike has for now been launched for the Indonesian market only but is sure to arrive in India for a lower price than the CBR150R to bolster the sales.
The CBR150R is still powered by a 150cc DOHC liquid-cooled unit that has an output of 17.6bhp and torque of 12.5Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike has the same telescopic forks at the front and linked suspension like its faired sibling. The only major changes apart from the lack of faring are completely cosmetic in nature; the new bike is offered in four different colours –black, white, orange and a tricolour scheme.
The CBR150R has not been doing too well and is facing stiff competition from the Yamaha R15 and the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS. Now though, with this naked version Honda might be able to give it a sub-Rs 1 lakh price and undercut the competition.
