Honda has unveiled the CBR300R at the 12th China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition. This is an international model and will be manufactured in the company’s Thailand plant. For now it will be sold in the Chinese market which is growing pretty fast in the performance segment.
The Honda CBR300R is powered by a 300cc single cylinder engine that is expected to generate around 35bhp and 29Nm of power. This engine is the same one that powers the CBR250R but has been bored up for more displacement and power figures.
Few design cues have been taken from the younger CBR but certain design elements like the twin headlights and the overall design has been taken from the bigger Hondas. It will be available with Combined ABS.
The CBR300R will replace the CBR250R in most of the markets. The same approach was taken by Kawasaki with their Ninja 300 that replaced the Ninja 250R in most of the markets including India. Expect the CBR300R to make its way in India in 2014 Auto Expo and the company might price the motorcycle very competitively to compete with the KTM Duke 390.
