- Honda trademarks X-ADV name
- Powered by 745cc engine
- India launch unlikely
Honda has filed a trademark for the X-ADV name in India. Now, the Honda X-ADV is incredibly interesting two-wheeler. Styled like a maxi-scooter, it comes with hardware capable handling off-road riding.
To begin with, it rides on spoke wheels and dual-sport tyres. It also gets a five-step adjustable windscreen, knuckleguards and an aluminum bash plate to complete the package. Adding to that, the Honda X-ADV sports a narrow inseam that would allow shorter riders to plant both feet on the ground. And to top it off, the adventure scooter is powered by a 745cc, twin-cylinder motor that churns out 57bhp and 69NM and comes mated to a Dual Clutch Transmission or DCT like the Honda Africa Twin.
And now that the scooter’s name has been trademarked, will it be launched in India soon? We think not. As enticing as it is, the Honda X-ADV is unlikely to make its way to India anytime soon as the company would not be able to price it competitively. Moreover, Honda has aslo trademarked the ADV 150 and CBR250RR in the country before and is unlikely to bring those two-wheelers to our country for the same reasons.
