Styling updates for the 2016 Honda XRE 300 include redesigned panels, a new fairing, fresh graphics and a reshaped instrument panel that’s now ‘black-lit’. Tank capacity has been bumped up to 13.8 litres, up from the present 13.6 litres and loses the conventional tank cap for a snazzy looking aviation type fuel lid. Also in the offering are the new handlebar switches.
Mechanically, the new XRE 300 remains identical to the earlier bike and continues to soldier the single-cylinder 291cc DOHC motor that uses a five-speed gearbox. This unit makes an identical 25.6bhp while spinning out 27Nm of torque. Honda is reinforcing the owner experience by also offering a three year warranty with unlimited mileage, and free oil changes for the first seven service visits.
