Earlier during the year, it was revealed that Honda has patented a new design for the naked version of its fully faired CBR 300R. Called the ‘CB300F’, this new motorcycle could well be a part of Honda’s 2015 line-up of models, says Visor Down.
The CB300F reportedly has been listed on emissions certification documents by the California Air Research Board. This new naked motorcycle is listed alongside the fully faired CBR 300R and the CBR300RA which is the ABS-equipped version of the standard CBR.
The CB300F, in all probability, will be powered by the same 286cc, single cylinder engine that also powers the existing CBR 300R. The motor puts out around 30.4bhp of power in the fully-faired model. Expect the upcoming naked model to boast of a similar amount of power.
The CBR 300R currently competes with the Kawasaki Ninja 300. The latter is available in the Indian market, however, Honda India currently doesn’t have the CBR 300R in its line-up. With Kawasaki expected to launch its own naked quarter litre model – the Z250 in India very soon, even Honda might consider bringing the CB300F to cash in on the growing demand for sub 500cc performance motorcycles in India.
