- Honda Airblade 160 launched in Vietnam
- Gets a new engine and design
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Honda has launched the new-gen Airblade 160 scooter in Vietnam and updated it with some significant changes.
To begin with, the Yamaha Aerox 155-rival from Honda is now powered by a 160cc engine borrowed from the Vario 160, that is also sold internationally. This motor pumps out 15.2bhp and 14.2Nm which is marginally more than what the Aerox 155 offers. Additionally, Honda also claims to have revamped the frame, making it lighter. It has also resulted in a bigger boot that now has a 23.2-litre capacity.
The underseat is said to be enough for two half face helmets and comes with a USB charger as standard. Along with this feature, the Honda Airblade 160’s brochure also lists a digital instrument cluster and smart key along with a single-channel ABS.
In terms of design too, the scooter has been tweaked. It now bears a fascia similar to the Honda PCX with a radical looking headlamp setup and sleek lines running throughout its bodywork. Now, the Honda Airblade 160 does look like an interesting product to have especially if you are looking to buy a maxi-scooter or something that is more than a conventional scooter. However, it does seem unlikely to be offered in India anytime soon.
