- Honda Vario 160 patents filed
- Powered by 160cc, engine
- Unlikely to be launched here soon
Honda has filed patents for a new scooter in India called the Vario 160. Now, this scooter is already available in international markets and competes against the Yamaha Aerox 155.
In similar fashion to the Yamaha, the Honda Vario 160 gets a sporty design language with sharp and edgy bodywork resembling the Grazia sold in India. It gets an aggressive LED headlamp along with sharp lines and creases that make it interesting to look at. That said, it also uses a powerful 160cc engine to match. This motor is capable of churning out 15bhp and 13.4Nm. While the power figures are the same as the Aerox 155, the latter has marginally higher torque output.
In terms of features, the Honda Vario 160 lists a full-digital instrument cluster, ABS, USB charging port and 18-liters of underseat storage. Everything said the Vario 160 does seem like an interesting prospect for the Indian market as Honda does not have any offering in that segment here. And even though, the scooter has now been patented in the country, there is no assurance that it would be launched in India anytime soon.
