Husqvarna 401 concepts – the Vitpilen and the Svartpilen will make it to production and will go on sale in 2017. Unveiled at the 2014 EICMA, the concept motorcycles are based on the KTM Duke 390 and look quite nice.
During the global unveil, Husqvarna said that if these concept bikes get sufficient interest, then it could make into production. And looks like the company has got very good response for these bikes leading them to make this decision. The Sweden-based manufacturer will launch these bikes under 2017 models, however, the overall design and styling will be toned down to follow rules and regulations. The Vitpilen, which means white arrow in Swedish, is a modern take on a café racer and the Svartpilen that stands for black arrow has been inspired from the Scrambler.
“I can tell you that they will come as 2017 models. They may not look the same, a concept is after all a designers dream while a finished model must follow rules and regulation, but they will definitely have the same style,” said Reinhold Zens, managing director, Husqvarna.
We are not sure if these motorcycles would be sold in India, but it's most likely to be produced at Bajaj's Chakan facility. For now, we hope that KTM and Husqvarna finds its way at the 2016 Auto Expo.
