Husqvarna has launched a teaser campaign for its upcoming motorcycle, the 701 Supermoto. The last time we saw this motorcycle was when it was spied testing alongside the Enduro version in Spain few months ago.
The teaser campaign includes a dedicated microsite and a video, which is quite interesting. The Supermoto 701 is being ridden on ice with studded tyres. The motorcyclist rides the 701 Supermoto on the ice lake, showcasing very little components of this soon-to-be launched bike. The video ends with a tag line “In Search of the Essence”.
The company is planning to launch this motorcycle in the next few months and is expected to be priced in the same price bracket like the KTM 690 SMC R. These two bikes are mechanically identical and share many components. Powering this Supermoto is a 690cc single cylinder four-stroke engine that churns out around 67bhp of power and sends it to the rear wheel via a chain drive. It tips the scale at 145kg, which means better acceleration and top speed compared to its Austrian sibling.
While the Indian market is yet to get the bigger KTMs, the Husqvarna motorcycles will eventually come to India as they will be manufactured here in future and when they do, expect Bajaj to launch the Swedish bikes in India.
