The Husqvarna Svartpilen has been spotted undergoing trials in Europe. We expect the Svartpilen to be one of the first Husqvarna products to be launched in India before the end of this year.
It is evident that Husqvarna has retained most of the styling bits from the original concept. Designed to resemble a scrambler, the Svartpilen gets a chopped tail section and fenders, exposed frame and the stamped-out tyre hugger to give it a minimalistic look. The spoke wheels, engine bash plate and the dual sport tyres give it a rugged character. The test mule also sported the colour TFT dashboard from the new 390 Duke.
At the heart of the Svartpilen is the 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder mill sourced from KTM. This engine delivers 43bhp and 37Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission with slipper clutch.
The Svartpilen made its debut as a concept at the 2014 EICMA Show in Italy along with its café racer sibling – the Vitpilen. In India, the Svartpilen will be positioned above the KTM 390 Duke as a premium offering.
