Husqvarna has unveiled its new supermoto– the 2017 FS 450. This motorcycle has been revamped not just cosmetically but also technologically and in the performance division.
To start with, the FS 450 gets the latest AER 48 forks from WP suspension, which is now 1.66kg lighter from its predecessor. This setup is easy to adjust and gets the air pump as standard. The supermoto now gets a new map switch on the switch gear which allows the rider to switch between two different engine maps. It’s the same button that activates the launch control for maximum traction.
There's also the CNC-machined triple clamps which allow the fork tubes to flex under load. In this updated model, the upper triple clamp has a new design to match the characteristics of the new forks. And things just don't stop there. A new set of aluminium engine mountings further improves suspension functionality while reducing the overall weight.
Powering this supermoto is a 449cc single-cylinder engine which the company claims to be as the most powerful 450cc supermoto engine every designed by Husqvarna. This engine has been tuned to deliver power suited to the nature of the bike.
The 2017 FS 450 Supermoto will go on sale in the next couple of months but only in the European markets. Unfortunately, India doesn’t have a market for such bikes, so this supermoto won’t come to India, unless it is made in India, which is a distant possibility.
