The fully faired Yamaha Fazer 250, likely to be called the Fazer 25 in India, gets a single headlamp as opposed to the dual headlamps on the 150cc version of the Fazer already sold here.
The new headlamp is an LED AHO (Auto Headlamp On) unit although it still borrows the LED tail lamp from the FZ 25. Furthermore, the spy shots reveal that the instrument cluster too, is from the FZ25. The Yamaha Fazer 250 test unit also showcases new rear view mirrors and a visor.
Like its naked sibling, the Fazer 250 will be powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, fuel-injected engine that produces 21bhp of power and 20Nm of torque. ABS is expected to be offered as an optional on the higher variant. The new BS-IV compliant engine will come mated to a five-speed transmission.
The bike is likely to be launched in the country after the monsoon and will compete against the KTM RC 200 and the Honda CBR 250R.
