- Gets updated styling
- Likely to get 451cc, parallel-twin engine
- Could be launched in India next year
Kawasaki has unveiled the all-new Ninja 500 and Z 500 at the EICMA 2023 held in Italy.
The highlight of the new motorcycles is the new engine- the details of which haven’t been revealed. However, we can expect them to come powered by the 451cc, parallel-twin engine as the Eliminator 500. It churns out 45.4bhp at 9000rpm and 42.6Nm at 6000rpm. That said, Kawasaki says that the new engine offers a better torque spread than the Kawasaki Ninja 400.
This engine is housed in a trellis frame that is shared between the Ninja 500 and Z 500. In terms of features, both motorcycles get an LCD as standard. However, the higher-spec SE versions offer Bluetooth connectivity and a USB-C charging port as well along with keyless ignition. Along with these changes, Kawasaki has also updated the design of the motorcycles.
The Z 500 has a different front end that includes a radical-looking setup for the LED DRLs. Even the tank shrouds, fuel tank design and rear end are different on the new model. On the other hand, the Ninja 500’s design is in tune with the rest of the Ninja range and is similar to the Ninja ZX-6R.
Now, we can expect the Kawasaki Ninja 500 and Z 500 to be launched in India sometime next year and replace the Ninja 400 sold in the country as of now.
