The Triumph Daytona 660 made its global debut recently and is set to be launched in international markets soon. It will also be launched in India sometime this year, so before it arrives, let us tell you everything you need to know about the Daytona 660.
Design
The styling of the Daytona 660 is a mixed bag of sorts. The fully-faired motorcycle takes elements from the outgoing Daytona 675 and in some ways, its rival- the Honda CBR650R too. It comes with full-LED headlamp split by a large air duct in between. The bike comes with an athletic-looking fuel tank and a svelte rear section. That said, Triumph has revised the ergonomics compared to the 675 and is now more upright and should be comfortable for city rides and slightly longer commutes as well.
Features and hardware
As for its list of features, the Triumph Daytona 660 offers ride modes- Sport, Road and Rain, just like the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660. It also gets safety aids like traction control and ABS. Lest we forget, the motorcycle also gets LED lighting and a TFT screen with smartphone connectivity. Now, the Daytona 660 rides on Showa 41mm USD forks and a preload-adjustable Showa monoshock. Braking, on the other hand, is done with twin 310cc discs up front and a 220mm rear disc.
Performance
Since the Daytona 660 is based on the Trident, it comes with the same 660cc, inline three-cylinder engine with a six-speed gearbox. This motor makes 95bhp and 69Nm and the redline is set at 12,650rpm.
India launch timeline and expected pricing
With its global unveil done, we can expect Triumph to launch the Daytona 660 in India sometime this year itself. It will go up against the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the upcoming Honda CBR650R in the country.
