KTM has launched Duke 200 in Philippines for a price tag of 195,000 Pesos (Rs 2.61 lakh). This motorcycle will be manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant and then be exported to the Philippines where there has been a sudden surge in demand for motorcycles over the last few years.
“The entry of Duke 200 into the local market is only the beginning. High performance and superior hardware made affordable is value we offer that no other product can compete with. A naked bike is highly customisable; performance hardware can be added to enhance the already premium features. We expect the modern Filipino man to balance function and convenience. The wise consumer asks for it, so we create the perfect formula.” said, Toti Alver, chief executive, KTM Philippines.
Bajaj exports the Duke 125,200 and 390 to international markets. In India, Duke 200 is priced at Rs 1.39 lakh (almost half the price of the Philippines model) and this is due to heavy localisation. The Duke 390 will be launched in India early next year and is likely to be priced at around Rs two lakh.
