Yamaha recently unveiled the 2018 YZF-R3 internationally with cosmetic changes. We can expect the bike to be launched in India early next year, with a BSIV complaint engine. Here is the photo gallery of the Yamaha YZF-R3-
For 2018, the YZF-R3 sports the same sharp design language inspired by its bigger siblings.
The cosmetic changes include three new paint schemes – Yamaha Blue, Vivid White and Raven Black.
While other manufacturers have moved on to LED DRLs and headlamps, Yamaha has stuck to conventional halogen bulbs on the YZF-R3.
The bike’s instrument console gets a digital display along with an analogue tachometer.
It gets a 321cc parallel-twin engine that produces 42bhp at 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm.
Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic 41mm Kayaba forks upfront and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the rear.
The bike sports a 298mm front disc brake and a 220mm rear disc brake. Globally, ABS is offered as an optional extra.
The YZF-R3 rides on 17-inch alloys that are shod with 110/70 and 140/70 tyres for the front and rear respectively.
When launched, the bike will compete against the Kawasaki Ninja 300, KTM RC 390 and Benelli 302R.
