Benelli has updated its middleweight adventure tourer motorcycles, the TRK 502 and TRK 502 X in the international markets. The updated TRK 502 and TRK 502 X models should arrive in India and here we explain the top details about the motorcycles.
Design
The 2022 models look similar to their respective existing versions and the TRK 502 range continues to use a twin-pod headlight, a tall windscreen, a semi-fairing, and split-style step-up seats. The off-road biased X version further benefits from a tall-set exhaust and wire-spoke wheels. Unlike the existing TRK 502 X, the updated model uses cross-spoke wheels. These are wrapped in tubeless tyres instead of tube-type units on the existing TRK 502 X. The new models also benefit from an updated colour palette and graphics to distinguish them from the existing versions.
Features
The feature list, too, gets a revision, and the 2022 TRK 502 range uses an updated layout for the switchgear, a full-colour TFT dash, heated grips, and tyre pressure sensors. Surprisingly, despite being feature-rich, Benelli decided to skip traction control system on the 2022 TRK 502 range. Thus, the safety net will only include a dual-channel ABS.
Engine
The 500cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine already complies with the latest emission norms. Thus, there are no changes to the power and torque output figures. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor is tuned to produce 46.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 46Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm.
Hardware
Apart from the addition of tubeless-tyre compatible cross-spoke wheels on the TRK 502 X, the hardware remains similar to the existing models. Thus, the shock absorption tasks are handled by upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock. The braking duties are performed by twin discs at the front and a single rotor at the back.
Expected Prices
The updated models should carry a price premium over the existing models. The current TRK 502 and TRK 502 X, for reference, are available at Rs 5.34 lakh and Rs 5.79 lakh, respectively.
