KTM has unveiled the 2022 390 Adventure for the international markets, and the updated model is expected to arrive on the Indian shores soon. The latest iteration of the 390 Adventure gets styling upgrades and updated features for 2022, and here we explain all the details about the motorcycle.
Styling
The overall design remains unaltered, and the 2022 KTM 390 Adventure continues to feature a split-style LED headlight at the front, a windscreen and air deflectors, a muscular fuel tank, split-style seats, side-slung exhaust, and alloy wheels (19-inch front/17-inch rear). The Austrian manufacturer claims to have enhanced the quality and robustness of the alloy wheels. While the design remains similar to the outgoing version, KTM has added new paint options to the 2022 model. Internationally, the 2022 KTM 390 Adventure is available in two colours – orange/blue and orange/grey.
Updated Features
Apart from the styling revision in the form of new colours, the 2022 390 Adventure also gets updated electronics. The adventure tourer now packs two-level traction control (Off-road and Street). The new traction control system is said to give the 390 Adventure a degree of rear wheel slip to enable easier use of the bike in loose or wet terrain. Furthermore, the Off-road traction control mode will remain activated in the event of a brief stall or fall. The 2022 model retains the lean-sensitive ABS and traction control system.
Engine
The company has not made any changes to the engine, and the 2022 390 Adventure continues to use the Euro5/BS6-compliant, 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the engine is tuned to deliver 42.3bhp of power at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. The India-spec model, similar to the outgoing version, should get the quickshifter as standard.
Hardware
Similar to the mechanical specifications, the hardware, too, remains identical to the outgoing version. The international-spec 390 Adventure gets adjustable front forks and rear mono-shock to handle the suspension tasks. The Indian-spec model, on the other hand, misses the adjustability function for the front forks and only gets a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock at the back. The braking tasks are handled by 320mm and 280mm discs at the front and back, respectively.
Expected India Launch and Price
The 2022 KTM 390 Adventure should arrive in the Indian dealerships very soon. While an official launch timeline is not available, we expect to see the new model in our market in the first quarter of the calendar year 2022. All the updates should push the prices slightly higher and the 2022 390 Adventure should carry a premium over its predecessor’s Rs 3.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) tag.
